Broad Palette Design is proud to be using American Clay Plaster as a mainstay of our specialty finishes. As you’ve seen in our portfolio, we’ve been doing beautiful old plaster walls with paint, and now we are doing them with American Clay as well. The beauty of clay plaster needs to be seen and felt to truly appreciate why we use it so much. Now we can provide the granular texture of plaster to our old plaster wall finishes. The end result is an incredibly beautiful aged plaster look, with the added bonus of all the wonderful benefits American Clay offers.
American Clay is much easier to live with than traditional lime plaster. Being clay-based, repairs are very easy. Simply rehydrating leftover plaster and applying it to any damaged area results in a great match. No longer is it a problem to move paintings, worry about fingerprints, or discover a scratch on the wall. We can show you how to repair most problems yourself, quickly and easily.
American Clay Plaster is also one of the most environmentally-friendly alternatives to paint or lime-based plaster. It contains no VOC’s, exhibits no off-gassing, contains recycled aggregates, has the lowest carbon footprint of any interior finish, and helps to maintain a mold-free environment with improved indoor air quality. This is a product that truly goes above and beyond the current Green building standards now coming into effect. In fact, using American Clay can result in receiving LEEDs credits from the US Green Building Council – which soon may be a requirement on most construction projects.
Like Peter Michael Winery and many of our clients have found, Broad Palette Design and American Clay can create a very beautiful and organic environment in your home or work space. Please check out our photos of completed clay finishes, and hopefully you’ll see your own wonderful walls in this portfolio.
